This route offers something different from the ever so busy and famous Sydney Harbour Scenic 1 route.
Doing this flight, we still fly at 1,500ft until we reach Long Reef and fly this coastal route, known to aviators as the Victor 1 route.
I have not flown this route as of late, but it will at 500ft and we get a glimpse of the Sydney Harbour and City from the coast.
Like most of my flights, it is best flown early in the morning when it is mostly calm. At 500ft all the way, we fly down past the Sydney Heads and all the way down past the hand gliders at Stanwell Park and NSW’s version of the Great Ocean Road.
